Long Weekend

What a great long weekend! We had so much fun with the girls. We visited Daddy's office, went swimming, went on our first trip to Chillville, church, shopping, to the park, on stroller rides and to Lanie's office! We stayed very busy and the girls were really little angels. Kennedy is now fully crawling and she has also learned to wave! She waves at everyone - even to people on TV! So cute.

Houston, we have a crawler!

MM is fully on the move! She was just learning to sit up by herself before I went to DC and now she is all over the house. Within 1 day of learning to crawl she has also learned to pull up! She can pull herself up from her belly all the way to standing. We had to lower the crib mattresses because she can now stand up in her bed all by herself! Things are certainly happening fast in the Rowland household. Time to babyproof - and watch out Jack and Genesis! The girls are fascinated with them.

Kennedy has an extra corner of a tooth showing, too. She is scooting and should be full blown crawling soon. I'm off to make up for lost time while in DC so I look forward to lots of entertainment with these two over the weekend!

In Good Hands

I'm back from DC and so glad to be back in a routine with my girls. It's unbelievable how much I missed them! They do so much new every day - I hate to miss one minute. I know it must be getting easier because before I was just glad to get an uninterrupted night's sleep - now that's not even that important to me anymore!

The girls had a great time at Nana & Papa's during the week. They had several adventures including a trip to the water park downtown. Then they spent the weekend with Lanie & Pop while we attended a baby shower in Tupelo for a future playmate - another girl! Carmel Sadie Ethridge...can't wait for her arrival! Swimsuit Model

Kennedy's new thing is that she likes to roll over and pose on her side like a swimsuit model. Hilarious! PS...we have a TOOTH! It's a tiny little piece of her bottom right tooth - but it's breaking through finally and she has been GROUCHY this weekend. I leave for DC on Monday and of course, when I return she'll have a head full of teeth and they'll both be crawling all over the house. How do they know to sychronize these firsts when you're away?

Watermelon Fest

MM and I went on a shopping trip to Target this afternoon. I thought she looked so cute in her watermelon outfit and matching shoes so I just had to post a picture! I love the last picture because you can really see her hair - it stands straight up and is so fine it's hard to capture in photos.

July 4th Cookout

We had a pre-4th cookout with friends yesterday to celebrate the 4th. We have a few friends with little girls right around the age of ours that we haven't had a good chance to meet yet. So, we took advantage of the long weekend and had a cookout at our house. There were 4 babies under six months old, and 3 additional kids under 3 yrs. old. It was a blast! There was swimming (thanks to the awesome pool DitDee and Uncle Don loaned us!) and food and great company. I only took pics for the first 5 seconds of the party - so I can't believe I don't have any good pics of baby Zoe or baby Katelyn - but hopefully their Mommies will forward me some and I'll post them then.

Festive outfits...

Tanner and MM. We laughed that it won't be long before K and MM will want to spend the night with Isabella so they can flirt with Tanner's friends!

This pool is perfect for our girls. They use their floaties as walkers and walk all around the pool. It's great for bedtime, too!

Weight Check

MM had a weight check with her pediatrician yesterday afternoon. We are so proud! She now weighs 13 lbs and 8 oz!! That is a gain of 1 lb and 6 oz in six short weeks. She is still only in the 5th percentile, but Doc says that she looks great and proportional and so she thinks she's just going to be a petite little thing.

MM can sometimes take a little while to warm up new people so she was NOT excited about this new person poking and prodding on her. She probably cried worse than any shot she's received! As soon as I picked her up she quit crying and gave Doc the evil eye. Hilarious!

It was nice to get away with just one baby girl for the afternoon. We'll definitely have to make a point for some individual time with each girl in the future. MM was the hit of the waiting room. She hooted and growled at everyone. I didn't bring a single toy in the diaper bag - yikes! - but she just played and entertained herself. What a big girl!
