Last Thursday we headed to Dauphin Island for our very first family vacation! We rented a house with our friends the Carrs and the Thomases for a long weekend. The house was amazing and we really enjoyed it. We were a few minutes from the beach and had our own private pool which was really nice. After a slow start due to much needed oil changes and racks that wouldn't fit on the back of the truck, we finally made it to AL around 5pm. We were all very excited to see each other. Baby Jack was especially glad to see the girls as you can tell by his big kisses! We spent the evening catching up and watching the Ole Miss game. Felt sorry for the Carrs as they were the only Rebels there!
A little tug of war

The weather was beautiful on Friday and the boys (minus Jack) headed for 9 holes of golf. The girls stayed behind and played in the pool. We had a great time swimming, playing, and chatting. I have zero pool pics - we were just having too much fun! After a full day of swimming in the pool, Angelia really wanted to check out the beaches in AL. We strolled the girls and pulled Jack in the wagon to the dune at the end of the street thinking we were right at the beach. WRONG! Once we topped the hill it was seriously miles of dunes to the water. Apparently last year's hurricane rearranged the sand and the beach isn't so close anymore. We walked to the public beach and checked it out and let the girls feel sand for the first time. Kennedy was NOT a fan. MM couldn't figure out why she couldn't get it off of her hands and that kind of freaked her out but it definitely peaked her interest.
