8 Months Old

The girls are 8 months old today! Seriously - where does the time go? It's amazing how once you start getting a decent amount of sleep again it seems like time just starts slipping away from you. Not that I'm asking to go back to that sleep-deprived stage! The girls just AMAZE me with everything that they have learned this past month. In one month they have learned to sit up by themselves, crawl, and pull up to standing. They pretty much stand up by themselves as long as they can prop an elbow or hold on to something. They've learned to sit gracefully from standing, too.

They are sleeping from 7:30 pm to around 6 am. Of course - not on the weekends! MM got up at 4:30 Saturday morning - does she know it's our day to sleep in - or does she just know I'll cave and let her snuggle with me in the big bed on Saturday mornings? MM also does not nap - she absolutely detests sleep. She will throw an all out fit before finally giving in to sleep. Kennedy on the other hand is a sleep lover. The child wakes up and 5 minutes later is ready to sleep again.

Kennedy is doing much better at trying new foods - not just yellow vegetables for her anymore. Both girls pretty much will eat anything except for peas - even meats. Well - not meats by themselves but the meats mixed with vegetables. Has anyone smelled those meats by themselves? I wouldn't eat that either! It smells like dog food. I've tried to start feeding them more and more off of the table but attempts so far have ended up with us mopping the floor at restaurants. We have introduced the little Gerber puffs - I can't believe I don't have pictures of that yet. It sticks to their teeth and looks like Bubba teeth - hilarious! But, they are learning to grab and sometimes they even put one in their mouth. Why do they put anything and everything in their mouth except for food?

Still no teeth for Morgan but Kennedy has a full tooth showing on the bottom and is working on a second! Tried to get pics to no avail.

K standing up like a big girl
MM with her new toy and usual expression
K loves her duck "Bill" that Mrs. Ann gave her for Easter. She hugs and squeezes its face each night before bed. MM loves the Barbie horse - she crawls straight for it after her bath each night. Their Daddy makes play time fun with all these animals - he sure keeps me entertained!

MM's "spot"... this ottoman is just the right height to hold on to
I adore this picture. She sports this expression constantly! I think she's imitating all the adults who are so excited to see her all the time.
Look at me!
Ha ha...MM's same smile. Is that a knee I see trying to climb?
Another knee?
