Almost...

I almost made it this entire preganancy without getting sick...but here I am at the 30 week mark and I have been attacked by the sinus infection. It started with coughing my head off Monday night and now has grown into extremely swollen glands and sore throat. Thank goodness my 30 week appointment was today and my doc called me in a Z-pack, but that really doesn't alleviate symptoms so I have a feeling I'm going to be down for the count for a few days.

As for the appointment, all is well. My blood pressure is fantastic and I'm still not dilated. I got a maternity belt to help with my back pain and she wrote me a letter for me to start working from home. Woohoo! We had the good sonogram tech today and we did play around with the 4D sonogram again - but poor Mary Morgan was still hidden behind the cord and placenta so we still have yet to get a good look at her face. Kennedy is head down now and is doing great - she still has the same chubby cheeks from 4 weeks ago! Unfortunately, the tech forgot to save any of the pics so we don't have any digital pics to post. Maybe in 2 weeks! I'm scheduled on a good tech day so we'll cross our fingers!

Showers of Blessings

This weekend I had two showers with friends and family where everyone poured out their generosity on me & Taylor and the girls. We are so blessed to have such a great support system. We are getting close to feeling ready for the girls' arrival and that is such a huge relief. Saturday's shower was hosted by some of my oldest friends, Sara and Tyanne, the greatest gym owner in the world, Cherry, and Taylor's Aunt Teri and Aunt Nell. We had such a great time and really appreciate everyone spending such a beautiful fall morning with us! Sunday's shower was hosted by the church I grew up in, First Church of the Nazarene in Vicksburg. They are such a loving and caring congregation and they never cease to amaze with me with their giving and generosity to others. What a blessing to be raised by such an inspirational group of people!
Beautiful table setting at Sara's house. Isn't the cake adorable?

Me, Tyanne, and Erin

Mrs. Ann, Aunt Nell, and soon to be Lanie (Taylor's Mom)

Mandi & Me (I love her even though she is an LSU Tiger!)

Lots of sweet outfits for the girls
Isabella loved the rockers that my sis, Deanna, gave M & K. They were just her size!

Such cute and creative decorations at the church!

The women in my family! Niece Jonna, Sis Shera, Me (and M&K!), Sis Deanna, and Mom. As you can see it's been a while since we've introduced girls to this family and we can't wait!

Nursery Pics!

The nursery is really coming together. This weekend my Dad came over and they put together these frames over the cribs out of crown moulding. I still haven't quite figured out what I'm going to put inside of them yet but I love them! Then the extremely talented Amanda made these amazing canvases for us to hang over the dresser. I can't stop staring at them - they are perfect!!!

This was a great weekend for us. We went down to the Clinton football game Friday night since they were playing Northwest Rankin. We went to see the rest of my niece's halftime show and it was fabulous. Saturday was nursery work during the day and watching State get their behind kicked by UT at night. Today we did some maternity shots with Racheal and I can't wait to get them back - she rocks!

Only 8 weeks until December 15!

28 Week Appt.

Today was my 28 week appointment. I can't believe I've made it to the 7 month mark! We were really bummed that we didn't have the good sonogram tech today so no good pics - not a single one! She did measure the girls and Kennedy weighs 2 lbs. 12 oz and Mary Morgan weighs 2 lbs. 7 oz. Dr. Brantley said that she was just wanting them to be over 2 lbs. by this point so she's pleased. They are still head to head - Mary Morgan is in the same position but Kennedy has just kind of tilted down enough so that she's standing on my bladder. Yes - that's fun!

My blood pressure is great, I'm not dilated, and really couldn't ask for things to be going better. I got my Rogam shot today since I have a negative blood type and we go back in 2 weeks. Until then!

1st Baby Shower!

Being funny before the shower... prom pose!! Taylor can barely get his arms around me!

I have the best friends in the world! Catherine, me, & Marcy

Hosts - Tommy, MH, and Matthew

Gift time!
The food was centered around my cravings - sausage biscuits, Starburst, corn dogs - ha!
Some of the crew...

Taylor the rock star! No late night in the Sisk household is complete without Rock Band!

This weekend we had our first ever baby shower! Our friends the Sullivans, Carrs, Sisks, Ethridges, and Newmans held a party for us in Madison where they showered us with the most generous of gifts. It was so awesome to see everyone and catch up on life. I wish we all lived in the same town! At one time we did consider buying a town and making it ours - but that's a whole different post. Ha! We are so thankful to everyone for driving such long distances to celebrate the arrival of our girls. We are so blessed to have you as friends. Love you all!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Today Taylor is the big 3-0! I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband and best friend. The girls are so lucky that they will have such a funny, talented, smart, and caring man for a Daddy. I know they will think that he hung the moon just like I do!

I am 27 weeks today and the girls are the size of cauliflowers and they say they should be weighing almost 2lbs!

Let them eat pie!

Today was my 26 week appt. and glucose test this morning. I am proud to say that I passed my glucose test. yay! I was really worried that I was not going to be able to be a glutton on my Mom's dressing at Thanksgiving or that I'd have to give up my Starburst or Wendy's frosties - but I'm in the clear. Bring on the sugar! My blood pressure is still great, I've only gained 4 lbs. this past month, and I'm not dilated. Overall a great visit! The only negative was that I am anemic - my levels were 9.9 and they're supposed to be 12.5 so she put me on a daily iron supplement AND she gave me a prescription for heartburn. Thank goodness!!!

Of course, the highlight of the visit was my sonogram and I had the good technician today so she broke out the 4D again! Taylor is still ticked that he wasn't with me today - this is one of the very few visits that he hasn't gone with me. We'll just hope that we have her again in 2 weeks when they do a long sonogram to measure the babies. For now - here are some pics of the girls sweet faces. Kennedy was all about the camera today and poor Mary Morgan was hiding behind the placenta. On one of these you can see both of their little heads. They were just moving all around and kicking each other. Sisters for sure!

Kennedy:

Morgan:

Both girls - you can see Kennedy's smiling face at the bottom and even though it's kind of hard to see Mary Morgan on the top you can see the top of her head and make out her little nose:

Hospital Tour

We went on our tour of the Baby Suites last night. I was pretty pumped about getting to have my babies at the Baby SUITES. When we arrived they gave us a little speech about how long to wait before we arrived at the hospital, how long the cafeteria is open - all that good stuff. Then they took us to view these suites. Of course, they take you in the largest room they have - the corner room. I swear - this room was as big as our old duplex!! We fit the whole tour - probably 30 people - in there comfortably. Not that I'd want 30 people watching me deliver - but this room was seriously awesome.

Just as I'm sold - then I find out that I will likely never see a room like this one! C-Section patients go to a C-section room (probably the size of a closet) to prep for surgery, then to the OR, then to recovery. After recovery (like 2 hours), they send you to the postpartum unit of the hospital which is just like any other hospital room with some fancy fake wood that sort of makes it look like a Days Inn. I pout the rest of the tour!! After it's over, I wait until the crowd filters out and tell her I'm having twins and see if that changes anything in the process. She gave me some tips on nursing immediately after the section and stuff, but she also told me that they rarely send twin Moms to the postpartum unit - they usually let them stay in the suites. SO - there is hope! Taylor says he can schmooze any group of women so hopefully he'll be full of charm the morning of the 15th :)

Tomorrow is my glucose test and I should have some more sonogram pics so I'll blog again then!
